First responders rescued two dozen people from an elevator that fell several feet in Sunset Park’s Industry City on Monday morning.

A mix of civilians, US Marshals and NYPD officers packed into the freight elevator of the commercial complex’s Building Six, likely heading to the offices they have recently occupied at 34 34th Street in January — a move from their Manhattan offices in early 2021.

The group remained mostly unharmed with only one elevator passenger — an NYPD officer — reporting minor back pain and was taken to NYU Langone in Sunset Park, a police spokesperson said.

Passengers were only trapped in the elevator for a short while, an FDNY spokesperson told Brooklyn Paper, with firefighters responding to the call shortly after 10 am and releasing the group before the clock struck 10:30 am.
